RELOADED IN HD- Race Conditioning For Ironman - Brown Mountain OHV

RELOADED - My videos were looking much better at home than online. I finally discovered the online re-processing was the problem and MAYBE figured out a way around the problem. My favorites that meet the right criteria will be ran through the software and re-uploaded if it works.

Orangeman and I decided to race a Hare Scrambles, the Ironman in Denver NC. It's a semi-famous race that is sort of a warm-up race for the upcoming season. They call it The Ironman because its FOUR HOURS LONG. That's a lot of time to be going hardcore on a dirt bike.

As I understand it, you can do it alone or with a partner who can "tag-in" any time but only one time one time and finish the race but you have to use the same bike. In the end, I don't remember what, something happened and we didn't get to do the race but the practice was a blast.

So we decided that to keep from embarrassing ourselves too badly we needed to be able to each run at a minimum (preferably better) of a mid-pack B class speed for at least 3 hours. The hope/plan was for race adrenaline to kick in and pick us up from there. --------- I know. Not much of a plan. But you gotta have a plan. Even a bad plan is better than no plan!

So we did like an hour and 16 minutes the first lap, an hour and 7 minutes the 2nd lap and 47 minutes the last lap. So we did about 3 and 10 minutes total. I laid out the tools beforehand and we set sag after laps one and two as fast as possible, like a pit-stop and didn't even get a drink before hitting the trail again. (lap times did not include sag re-sets) We started a little too slow trying to pace ourselves because even though we had ridden well over 2 hours, our last lap we rode a little faster than our first. But that’s why you do practice runs.
