Farming with Nature: A Case Study of Successful Temperate Permaculture

A case study of successful temperate permaculture. Sepp and Veronica Holzer farm 112 acres on a south facing hillside in the Austrian Alps. There they integrate methods of agroforestry on terraces and raised beds with livestock (outdoor pigs) and aquaculture. The Holzers grow vegetables, grain, fruit (even lemons between 2,000 and 3,000 feet), trees, medicinal herbs, flowers and wildflowers and have a healthy farm and a stable economy. Filmed throughout the seasons, this video shows that the application of permaculture principles and design can create a truly sustainable agriculture in a cool climate.
