If the footage is anything to go by, they're being used for safe, cautious long range sniping (as most tanks these days). We'll see how it progresses from there.
The Armata is the most protected tank on earth, full hard kill APS etc., but that does nothing against artillery which kills anything on the planet. Also APS should theoretically be useless against loitering drones because the radars on APS systems are programmed to react only to fast moving projectiles, for the safety purpose that a soldier throwing a snowball near the tank (or something like that) doesn't suddenly get blasted by the automated system. But Loitering drones go very slow relative to RPG's and ATGM's and as such would presumably be ignored by APS radars, though this is only a matter of 'programming' and the code can always be updated (theoretically).
