"Winning" and Candy Land

Candy Land is an interface for social activity and a tool to get high off the feeling of "winning." James Ernest argues that the game teaches young kids how to play "fair." But the irony is that the game is a constant lottery of choosing a winner. Winning becomes more important than "playing fair." The game Killer Bunnies is a better example of "enjoying play," but the outcome is just like Candy Land. If "not everyone is a winner," than why is the entire millennial generation hooked on instant-gratification consumer culture?
