Notes:

1 The name Meshullam pronounced mesh-ool-lawm´ according to Strong's concordance comes from the root word shalam - It is a common named used by the children of Israel - there were many priest of The Almighty with this name. There are a dozen related names with the same root used in the bible like King Solomon and the city Jerusalem.
2. You may notice Meshullam and shalam sound like the Arabic terms Muslim and Salaam - thats because Arabic and Hebrew are cousin languages and the terms mean the same thing.
3. Salam is the root of Muslim - Salam means the same thing as Shalam the "Mu" in front modified salam gives us the word Muslim - both Muslim and Meshullam mean a person or a group if in the plural that has peace and or makes peace - according to the Net Bible dictionary "devoted" - not the absence of conflict but security of the whole person complete - mind body and spirit - and that only comes from total submission to The Almighty.
4. In fact the Hebrew version of Muslim appears a lot in the Bible and according to Strong's this name is used 21 times for Israelites in the Bible.
5. Let's look at one example of the Bibles use of Meshullam in 2 Kings 22:3:
6. “In the eighteenth year of King Josiah’s reign, the king sent the scribe Shaphan son of Azaliah, son of Meshullam, to the LORD’s temple with these orders:“Go up to Hilkiah the high priest and have him melt down the silver that has been brought by the people to the LORD’s temple and has been collected by the guards at the door.” (2 Kings 22:3–4, NET)
7. If you believe scripture comes from The Almighty then you have to know that the Creator never does anything by mistake or for no purpose - the term Muslim or Meshullam teaches us something about what he wants for us.
