In 1970 at 12 years old, I learned this history lesson: 1888 President Rutherford B. Hayes noted in his diary that the United States ceased being a government for the people and had been replaced by a "government of the corporation, by the corporation, and for the corporation".
So a long time ago I knew of that FARCE in the election system.
I consider this to be the best of keeping democracy ALIVE & corruption at a minimum. I am not a fool who thinks you can remove corruption totally. It is a person by person & day by day world.
