Turkey Pulls Off Daring Daytime Burglary

Adam Cowan was out and about on the grounds of the University of Queensland in Brisbane when he saw an unusual shoplifter. A turkey can be seen leaving the university’s EzyMart with a food packet, before pecking at it, in the video uploaded to Facebook on August 16. Clearly concerned with this spate of fowl play, Cowan joked on Facebook, “Police are looking for anyone who might be able to provide information on a shoplifting suspect spotted at EzyMart this morning.” A protected native species, Australian brush turkeys have increasingly adapted to city life in recent decades, local media report.
