The lessons to take away from this:
1- data are sketchy and the government does not provide them easily. For the year 2018 there are two months worth of missing death reports. Does not look good to anybody trying to make sense of the situation.
2-existing data, however, show the UK had worse years than the present, at least until lockdown was implemented.
3- people on the media, like Fullfact.org, a fact checking outflet, are really mudying things with stuff like making it look like a report that is basically correct on the number of deaths being nothing unusual is actually terribly flawed.
4-the more you look into it, the worse the idea of putting people in lockdown looks. There is no logic in most of May's deaths for populations which were in lockdown since March. In fact, we all known that remaining always indoors is unhealthy, and there is evidence that you can re-infect yourself or increase the chance to infect somebody else if you are always at home shedding more and more viruses until the level of contamination is high enough. And the same fact checking organisation unwillingly nails it showing a plot on deaths for the UK between 2015 and 2020 where deaths actually go unusually high for 2020 AFTER THE LOCKDOWN IS ENFORCED!
