In this episode in our series on Julius Evola's "Revolt Against the Modern World", we cover Chapter 1: The Beginning. This chapter builds on some of the concepts from the Foreword and is a fairly spiritually oriented chapter, covering the inherent differences between the physical and metaphysical worlds and, most importantly, why it matters. This is foundational to understanding the rest of the book, as Evola frequently makes reference to the metaphysical realm when pointing to the World of Tradition.
(Since some people have asked, please note that this is NOT simply a reading of the book. Occasionally, we will quote the text to illustrate a point or if it is a section that needs to be broken down and explained, but otherwise this is a deep analysis that functions as a companion to the book and gives an overview of the deeper subjects that many people might struggle with on a cursory reading.)

Some useful terms to understand for this episode:
Being: one's true (metaphysical) essence
Becoming: one's physical state of perpetual change and insufficiency
Dharma, Logos, Tao, Ma'at: all different names for what is essentially the cosmic order and natural law that defines the metaphysical world
(For an excellent in-depth explanation of this concept, please see the video "What is Dharma": https://youtu.be/BsyzklLnV4k )
