In July of 2018 Colt .45 Horse Rancher Shannon Pearce was charged with 4 counts of Animal Cruelty by an Idaho Police Chief. Ted McGourty, a neighbor to the property where Pearce grazed 5 of his horses made multiple complaints to the Payette Police Dept. about Pearce's horses. Pearce was a student of horses and their pedigrees and made it his lifelong work to preserve them and breed them for the enjoyment of others. Pearce had a successful business in this practice for 40 years, and to find four of his horses DEAD was quite a shock!
