http://www.agniyogaintensive.com
For his 14th interview, David speaks with long-time friend Lea Kraemer, Yoga Therapist and Yoga Teacher Trainer based in Los Angeles.
David and Lea discuss a variety of topics in and around the power of mind, body, energy, movement and healing: from their days at the dance program in their high school in the joint school district of South Orange/Maplewood, New Jersey; her interest and pursuit of yoga and yoga education throughout the United States and the world; yoga as healing and its impact on individuals, groups and community. Lea shares specific mind/body stories of profound healing; provides information of various forms of yoga and their benefits; and her philosophy on being vegetarian/vegan.
Lea's Bio:
Lea Kraemer is a former professional modern dancer and choreographer from the East Coast. She performed and toured throughout the USA and in Asia, bringing this vitality and enthusiasm into her classes. Yoga began to enchant her in the late 1980’s, together with the lifestyle of non-violence, vegetarianism, and fierce compassion. Since then her extensive studies have taken her to India from Mysore where she studied with Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois, to Dharamsala where she received Tibetan Buddhist teachings. In the U.S. she completed training with a major, international ashram in Hatha Yoga and numerous certification programs in Vinyasa and Kundalini Yoga, tremendously enjoying teachings from master Yogi Bhajan. She has studied classical Ayurveda, the ancient, Indian “science of life”, since 2004 through Kerala Ayurveda and the DINacharya Institute directed by Dr. Bhaswati Bhatttacharya, where she is also a faculty member.
Lea founded PRANA MANDIR Yoga in 2001 with a NYC studio that ran for nine years. The school continues with Teacher Trainings in Vinyasa and Yoga as Therapy. Privately, she adores working with clients to assist them in healing from chronic and life threatening illness.
Lea’s daily practice begins with meditation in the tradition of her Guru. She feels blessed to share Wisdom teachings everyday. Her classes are dynamic choreographies of the soul, balancing the major meridian channels for steady joy and radiant peace.
