INGREDIENTS :

CAKE MIX :

1 3/4 cups plain flour ( 350 grams )
1/2 cup white sugar ( 100 grams )
1/2 cup brown sugar ( 100 grams )
2 teaspoons baking powder ( 8 grams )
1/4 teaspoon salt ( 1.5 grams )
50 grams butter squares ( 1.76 oz )

FILLING :

6 cubed small apples
1/2 cup water ( 118 ml )
4 tablespoons white sugar ( 50 grams )
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon ( 1.38 grams )
1/8 teaspoon salt ( 0.75 grams )
3 tablespoons butter ( 60 grams )
2 tablespoons cornstarch ( 19 grams )
2 tablespoons water ( 29.5 ml )

INSTRUCTIONS :

.in a mixing bowl add 1 3/4 cups plain flour,
1/2 cup brown sugar
.add 1/2 cup white sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder
.add 1/4 teaspoon salt & mix well
.in a frying pan on low heat add 3 tablespoons butter
.once melted add 4 tablespoons sugar, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
.add 1/8 teaspoon salt & mix well
.add 1/2 cup water
.in a cup mix 2 tablespoons water & 2 tablespoons cornstarch
.add slurry to pan & mix well
.add 6 cubed small apples, raise to medium heat
.cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until apples are tender
.in a baking dish add apple filling & smooth evenly
.add cake mix & smooth evenly
.place 50 grams butter squares even on cake mix
.place in preheated oven 180 c / 356 f for 15 minutes
.once butter melts remove and fork through
.place back in oven for 30 minutes
