Applied Project: Calculus of Baseball: Question 2
In this video I look further into the Applied Project: Calculus of Baseball and this time solve Question 2. This question looks at the work done by a pitcher to throw a typical fast ball of 90 miles per hour. In solving for the work, I first show that the work is actually just equal to the change in kinetic energy of the ball. Thus we can solve for the work without needing to know the actual displacement of the ball, which otherwise we would have had to know. This is a very interesting video to show just how much work and force it takes to throw a ball as fast as the pros, so make sure to watch it!
