Sydney saw its largest Freedom Rally for some time on Saturday 20th May 2023 when four different causes combined to walk from Sydney Town Hall, across Pyrmont Bridge to a park outside the Google Headquarters. Crowds were vocal yet orderly and police worked with rally organisers to help keep both traffic and march moving. A collection of speakers led by John Shipton, father of Julian Assange, addressed the crowd and a display of Forest of the Fallen was erected at the site.
