I've said this before and I'll say it again, YouTube has an underlying agenda regarding how it treats us as creators. YouTube does not care about who we are as individuals, but rather what we are as their product to advertisers and companies that they deal with. we are not as unique as we think we are on the platform, as in YouTube’s eyes we are just as disposable as the next small creator. as long as they make money they don't care who is at the top spot, which is one of the reasons why the PewDiePie vs. T-Series event occurred. it was clearly just a way to gain more revenue from their advertising and other Ventures that alphabet and Google have been involved in for years. there is no reason to believe that this verification Purge is any different, and is actually quite believable that this is a way for YouTube to cull the herd when it comes to creators that they disagree with or do not value as highly as their frontrunners. stay awake, stay alert, keep your eyes open. you are not special in YouTube's eyes, you are a product.
