This week we take another look at the nascent form of a character who would go on play a major role in the Golden Age of American cartoons.
This is one of the last classic-era appearances of Egghead, here in his "running gag" iteration with green suit and derby hat. Unusual for this version, his eyes are drawn open and larger, more like when he was actually starring in a picture. The Joe Penner impersonation voice often associated the lead-role Egghead is not used here, replaced with a Lou Costello impersonation and catch-phrase.
This is an early entry into Tex Avery's many educational-style film parodies, which he would continue into his tenure over at MGM with hilarious results.
