There and Back Again

WELCOME TO THE SHIRE!

A recent trip I made to my village, (deep in the Elena Balkan) where I pretty much spent half of my childhood years, pretending to be on some adventure, far away and beyond the boundaries of the modern and decadent world. I went there to get some fruit (apples, pears) and to re-visit old memories and places. Most villages nowadays in my country are swarming with gypsies, cut-throats and shady and problematic "characters", and much of the old native people are long gone, because of old age. My old village is still intact though, which is a very good surprise, but it gets populated by moronic people from the big cities, who doesn't know the values of peace and cannot understand the concept of the remote country side. Their understanding of "paradise" is to buy or build 3 houses and never to set foot in them. Most people just don't give a damn! ...and it pains me to see our sacred villages "burned" and transformed by modernity. It's like the scouring of the shire! Anyways...

It's been a blast returning there! The deepest and most majestic woods are those in the Balkan! The fairies and the spirits reside there. The home of the great eagle, the wild boar, the brown bear and the roe deer. Magic is in its prime!
