Gvoo Rechargeable Bluetooth Party Light

This deceptively simple and budget priced party light and Bluetooth speaker may be just what you need to enliven your party or even just your bedroom.
In the attractive mid-market box you get the disco light itself with USB charging cable, remote control, an adjustable wall/ceiling mount and a well written and easy to read User Guide. I enclose a copy of the User Guide on the end of my unboxing video.
The light is made of plastic but seems well made and pretty robust and my unit has shown no signs failing but knows how it will be after use in a few parties.. The remote control is quite small but the buttons are well marked and have a positive feel to them. Don’t be tempted to use this outside if there is any hint of rain, as this device is not water-resistant or designed for outdoor use.
Operating is easy enough. It can be used from the built-in rechargeable battery or from a USB cable as it charges. Almost everything is done from the credit card sized remote control, so take care not to lose. The only controls on the device are the power switch and mode button situated in the port bay at the rear. Also in the bay are the remote infrared receiver, micro-USB power-in port, and status LED.
The remote allows you to select from the four lighting modes giving sixteen colour combinations at eight brightness levels. The sound can be controlled by the remote, scrolled through with the rear button, or audio controlled through the microphone built into the unit. The lighting effects are very effective and would be perfect to give atmosphere to a party or small disco.
But this is not just a light show. It is also a Bluetooth speaker which can play music from your phone or other Bluetooth sound sources. The top third of the remote control is dedicated to music control, with the usual track control, volume buttons and even an EQ button giving access to some preset filters.
Finally, this unit also works as a night light with a rather attractive silicon cover that can be pulled in place on top of the device. This actually works far better than I expected and is very both striking and soothing. You may have to experiment to get the best brightness level in this mode.
The £16.19 price for a sophisticated remote control unit such as this is very good indeed although for long term or professional use a more expensive and more robust unit might be better.
