On February 3, 1959, American rock & roll musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and DJ J. P. Richardson (aka "The Big Bopper") were killed in a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa, together with pilot Roger Peterson. Bill holds this day in high regard as he concludes his 4-part broadcast to honor the memories of these men, with much of the emphasis on Holly, as Bill intends to play EVERY song Buddy ever recorded, including a few you may never have heard, as well as going over the history of his music. Bill opens phones to hear listener comments on this memorial broadcast as we pick up where the last part left off following an opening number. Originally broadcast February 3, 1997.
