Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel was already an established author and cartoonist by the start of WWII. He teamed up with legendary animator Chuck Jones to produce the PRIVATE SNAFU training films for the US military.
In 1957, Seuss wrote and illustrated a book about a hermit who'd had it up to his furry neck with the whole, noisy Christmas hubbub the folks down in Whoville enjoyed so much, and decided to put an end to it!
Nine years later, Seuss reunited with Chuck Jones, along with the immortal voice talents of Boris Karloff and Thurl (Tony the Tiger) Ravenscroft to create this beloved animated TV special. It's still run on TV every year. But they usually mutilate it, editing bits out and speeding it up to squeeze in extra commercials. No way to treat a masterpiece.
So here, from 1966, is How The Grinch Stole Christmas!
