The problem is America is too widely-separated to walk or even bike everywhere; the amount of food required is too much for bikes/carts to transport mandating the minimum personal transportation means is a 4-wheel, hatchback car like a Toyota Yaris or new Dacia Electric Vehicle that can go to the food store and/or other stops and back with food securely locked inside unlike an open-top pick-up truck.
A car can get you to work, your kids to school, church and intra or inter-state to a vacation spot since America lacks a comprehensive High Speed Train system like China, Japan and Europe has. School buses can transport you kids and a company van you to work--or you work from home. Church can be televised--you see the direction America is wrongly going--towards ever more mental and physically detached, non-kinetic living that is unhealthy and unfulfilling. The last remaining difficult transportation functions food and vacations demand a minimum car (MINICAR) though food store delivery vans/trucks could feed America that orders online. The Illuminati are more than eager to nix vacations and work the stoics to death funding the hedonists to party to death. They will certainly not want Americans to quickly get together by HSTs to THINK and question their evil tyranny. HSTs could transport MINICARs to an offload point close to their vacation destination so they don't have to be laboriously driven there.

The point is maximum FREEDOM is attained by individuals being self-controlled by moral stoicism; the more Brave American, James Bond Citizens self-regulate, the less the government has to inflict structure upon them from the outside.
