I thought ALL aircraft are obliged to have their "Large Character" Registration "Clearly" displayed on the Undercarriage, to aid identification and because, if we can read the Undercarriage Registration as the plane is flying over, then it is flying too low?
Times change of course, but that was my understanding for many years.
