In later versions of his stage persona, William Branham claimed to have had a vision telling him to go to Milltown, Indiana, to heal Edith Wright. According to Branham, it was “Thus Saith the Lord”. In her testimony, however, Hattie Wright Mosier declared this statement to be false.
Apparently, a “brother Roy”, which according to the timeline was likely Roy E. Davis, held revivals near Milltown. Shortly after, people were aware of William Branham, and sent Hattie and Edith to Jeffersonville. Not long after, and during the time Branham was still a ranking member of Roy Davis’ “Pentecostal Baptist Church of God” cult, Branham converted the Milltown Baptist Church to the sect.
Milltown Baptist Church remained a satellite Church even after the “Billie Branham Pentecostal Tabernacle” was renamed “Branham Tabernacle”, raising questions as to whether Branham actually left Roy E. Davis’ cult. Interestingly, it was at Milltown where Branham met E. Howard Cadle, whose church was the headquarters for the Indiana Ku Klux Klan when the Klan held political control of Indiana.
