Hello, this is Josh dream body clinic. And today we're going to talk a bit about Modafinil. This is one of my favorite things. Modafinil is a great tool in the arsenal for focus. I find that it can even help with, uh, athletic performance helps with work. It's got a wide list of uses and we're going to get into all of that.
Now in the United States, Canada, UK, Europe, always places. It is a scheduled medication. So, it can be very tough to get as it's listed as a wakefulness promoting agent. It's really a stimulant at the end of the day. So, it's controlled, and it's mainly prescribed for narcolepsy or sleepiness associated with sleep apnea.
So those are its main uses. Now we're a bit more focused on its off label uses. Um, it can be a great tool for depression, for ADHD, and obviously most importantly, focus and performance. A lot of Ile Ivy league kids are using Modafinil as they find it a better, safer alternative amphetamine type drugs, like Adderall Ritalin, any of those Concentra, any of that kind of list of different medications.
Um, and a lot of. Other things like, uh, militaries are using it. Dutch army uses it for century positions. So, their guys don't fall asleep while they're guarding the post. Um, a lot of fighter pilots have been prescribed it and are used it so that they can maintain focus for long flights. It’s been researched.
It's safe. Um, it's like a, a neural protective agent. It can help your brain, if anything, now obviously like anything, it can be abused. You can go too far, and we will get into dosing in this presentation. We will get into how it works. All of that. Now the last thing that it does and to kind of break it down is, is a stimulant of the peripheral and central nervous system.
So, it, it is going to be working on your nervous system inside and out. And this is a good thing. When you're on it, you feel good. You feel focused, you feel energy, you just feel like everything is firing perfect. Like you're having that perfect day. So, let's dig into it.
