London Stock Exchange Entrance Blockaded by Extinction Rebellion Demonstrators

Extinction Rebellion protesters blockaded the entrance of the London Stock Exchange on April 25, as part of actions against the financial industry which organisers said was about highlighting “the devastating impact the industry has on our planet”. In Canary Wharf, multiple demonstrators, including an 83-year-old man, climbed on top of and glued themselves to a Docklands Light Railway train. Demonstrators had previously carried out a similar action on April 17. The protest came in the wake of the clearing of the main demonstration areas at Oxford Circus, Marble Arch, Waterloo Bridge, Parliament Square and Piccadilly Circus.
