John 3:12: If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
We are fully aware that Jesus loved people enough to use parables in His teachings concerning heavenly things. Jesus explained His use for parables in this manner:
Matthew 13:13: Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Why are people not grasping these heavenly words of wisdom that Jesus is giving?
It is because our adversary does not want us to walk in this manifold wisdom!
The enemy is constantly at work against the Words of God to bring confusion in their spiritual understanding so that people can remain in bondage concerning the kingdom!
Matthew 13:19: When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
While anyone is hearing the Word of the kingdom and does not grasp and comprehend it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the roadside.
We remember when the religious Pharisees asked Jesus when the kingdom of God would come, they were expecting to see something in the natural realm.
However Jesus replies to them by saying in Luke 17:20: The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
The kingdom of God does not come with signs to be observed or with visible display.
Luke 17:21: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
The kingdom of God is within you [in your hearts] and among you [surrounding you].
This is a spiritual kingdom that is not of this world, and the truth of the matter is this is not a mystery that cannot be understood as some would proclaim.
This kingdom is a heavenly kingdom at work within us, and our enemy does not want us to have this revelation.
Once we receive this heavenly revelation that the kingdom of God is spiritual and is at work within us, then we will move and operate kingdom-minded; that is to say we will operate in KING (ROYAL) DOM (DOMINION)!
Upon receiving this revelation, the powers of darkness receive their rightful destiny of doom! This should make us want to understand heavenly things more than ever before!
2 Corinthians 4:7: But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
We possess this precious treasure [the divine Light of the Gospel] in [frail, human] vessels of earth, that the grandeur and exceeding greatness of the power may be shown to be from God and not from ourselves.
