In the MODERN WORLD, do we SUFIS DRESS MODERN, or DRESS TRADITIONAL to do our SUFI WORK? SOME MODERN SUFIS seem to BELIEVE that WEARING TRADITIONAL MAKES we SUFIS STAND OUT and make a DIFFERENT MYSTICAL WAY of DOING THINGS APPARENT. However, SUFI WRITERS from the 12th CENTURY like IMAM AL GHAZALI said that SUFIS should DRESS like PEOPLE of the TIME so we can CONNECT with PEOPLE without LOOKING STRANGE. Also in DRESSING MODERN, we may CONTINUE our SUFI WORK in the WORLD 'UNDER THE RADAR' being UNDETECTED. I asked one SUFI friend which was the correct way, she said, "Both are true"...A great oblique Sufi answer! ; ) K
