A review of the Exclusive First Editions model bus that is the Leyland Olympian ECW full height model that the tooling in based on. The model is represented in the Go North East Blue and Red livery and is based on B737GCN, I assume that the real bus is a full height ECW Leyland Olympian and not a low-height variant? I would be grateful for any information on the real bus please.
The model is very well made and it has a decent cab with a dashboard and ticket machine and the model bus has etched wing mirrors as well which do make the model bus look a lot better in my opinion. As with the most of the EFE model buses, the majority of the detailing on this model bus is printed rather than etched but they are nicely applied to this model in my opinion.
I personally think that the EFE model does capture the shape and the feel of the ECW Leyland Olympian more accurately than the old Corgi OOC models did and now that Bachmann owns the EFE range, I am hopeful that EFE will make the low-height ECW bodied Leyland Olympian to cover all of those that would have been in service during the 1980's and 1990's as well as some made it into the late 2000's. The final score for this nice model bus from EFE is fair and justified.
