Interpret/Artist: Ingmar Burghardt
Liedtext:
Laßt weh'n die schwarze Fahne,
verschwunden ist die Nacht.
Jetzt heißt es, nun beizeiten
zum Kampfe sich bereiten,
Der Ritt geht nun zur Schlacht.
Dort hält der Feind am Walde
gewaffnet Glied um Glied.
Die Lanzen sieht man fällen,
Trompeten hört man gellen
und stolzes Siegeslied.
Am Walde droben stehet
in kühler Ruh der Tod.
Wer weiß, ob er mich rühret,
mit sich von dannen führet
beim frühen Morgenrot.
Wir woll'n danach nicht fragen,
laßt hoch die Fahne weh'n!
Wir sind die letzten Erben,
woll'n siegen oder sterben,
doch frei die Heimat sehn!
---
English Translation:
Let the black flag fly
the night is gone.
Now it's called
prepare to fight betimes
The ride now goes to battle.
There the enemy stands at the forest
armed and lined up in order.
You can see the lances lowered down
Trumpets can be heard blaring
and a proud victory song.
Up at the woods stands death in cool rest.
Who knows if he will touch me,
lead me away with him
at early dawn.
We don't want to ask about
let the flag fly high!
We are the last heirs
we want to win or die
but we want to see our homeland free!
