Very interesting that the day I had this talk with a family-member and two hours later I find this video.
My conversation was this:
We are born into society. We go to school, because it's the law. We then enter into high school (secondary in some countries) and they teach you how important college is and they prepare you to enter college. When you get to college, they teach you how to get a job/career. A way to earn a paycheck, to be an employee and support someone else (a business or some other entity). People put in 40-80 or more hours a week for some of these companies. And they can let you go at any time. No more paycheck.
If only people would just finish school. Well, only because it's the law. But then find something to invest in for the family. To enrich the family. Not to invest, as in stocks. I'm talking about investing in your FAMILY. Your family. Yourself! And then your family will have a stake in this society we have built around us.
It doesn't matter what you invest in, as long as it's for you, your own, your family. Be it, plumbing business, detailing business, pool designer, tiling company, ice-cream maker, baker.
That was my conversation. --------------------------
This is what has been on my mind for years now. So much schooling, so much research, so many years. For someone else to reap the benefits of my labor.
And just like the video, once you have acquired MONEY, then you can acquire X and begin to stake your claim in this Monopoly.
So fascinating that I had this conversation and here is the video that confirmed my inner thoughts. The thoughts that I have had for years and years. But like he says, "poverty is inherited". It's difficult to start something when your parent's don't give you the starting knowledge, or not even the motivation. The insight has to be known, has to come from somewhere.
