No doubt there are MANY factors when considering prices on the macroeconomic scale. Among them are supply and demand. They're telling us that the world's oil market prices are increasing because 3 to 8% of Russia's exports MAY be disrupted. This means the oil companies have decided that future profits could be jeopardized, therefore BILLIONS in additional profits are being made merely on the EXPECTATION of an all out embargo. In other words, the oil companies just gave themselves a massive raise for NO REASON. Even if an embargo DOES happen, why don't some of the OPEC members like Saudi Arabia (with 266 billion barrels in reserve) and Venezuela (with 299 billion in reserve) or Canada (not an OPEC member) with 170 billion barrels in reserve) release just enough to stabilize prices...maybe half a percent. (apparently the current "stated" break even point on a barrel of oil rests at around $36/barrel). We all have known for a LONG time that manipulation and price-fixing happens by withholding and releasing oil into the markets. So, why don't they release some now?

With over 1.65 TRILLION total barrels in reserve, suggesting the release of less than 1% of those reserves is far from unreasonable. To add to this macroeconomic devastation we're seeing being foisted on individuals, we also know that inflation can be controlled in a powerful way if the Fed exercised some monetary constraint by halting the proverbial printing presses. But none of these solutions are on the table and CNN won't talk about it. Why? I think we know the ans..
