Buah! this was without a doubt one of the best dishes that I had during my whole trip in Thailand, no joke.
"Kuay Teow Neau Nai Soi" is the name of the place
A nice beef stock with some braised beef meat, really really tender and with a little bit of fat, then some thin rice noodles in the bottom of the bowl, some celery (including some stalks) and parsley, and some fresh crunchy sprouts on top, Too good! Sometimes, they would add some toasted garlic. Honestly, not just the food but also the place, staff, and hygiene were TOP!
I actually came to this place about 5-6 more times AFTER this one (this was my first visit), in many occasions having TWO bowls of that same soup back to back, that is how good this stuff was. What made it even better, if you can believe that, is the spices and condiments that they would offer you, a nice green concoction of secret herbs and vegetables, finely mixed with some vinegar I believe, that sour stuff would cut right through all that flavor, creating an incredibly unique & un-matchable contrast in flavors, but wait, it gets EVEN better. Dried chili-flake, soo good! then some fish sauce that provides a salty umami to the whole thing, it wasn't really "necessary" but since it was there you had to put some in it. And last, but not least: some nice white pepper. You know, white pepper and black pepper are worlds apart. That white pepper would be an incredible last touch that you can give to your bowl of soup and fits really really well with the whole beef theme. Guys, if you are in Bangkok, or in Thailand for that matter, you have got to try this! You will not regret it.
