Story 1 - A hammer-toting Manhattan madman with a history of harassment bashed a Gristedes supermarket manager in the head Thursday as he arrived to start his work day, the victim told the Daily News.
Ramon Acevedo said he was about to open the door when he spotted his attacker pacing back and forth outside the Ninth Ave. store near W. 24th St. around 7 a.m.
A hammer-toting Manhattan madman with a history of harassment bashed a Gristedes supermarket manager in the head Thursday as he arrived to start his work day.
The man was a regular neighborhood nuisance, Acevedo said, so he pulled out his phone and snapped a picture. That’s when the assailant bent down, grabbed a hidden hammer and starting swinging at Acevedo’s head from close range, bashing him on the left side of his head.
Story 2 - A brutal attack on a young boy at a Bed-Stuy bodega was caught on camera and the victim’s mother claims it has been a constant issue.
Police say they are looking for six men accused of attacking Valerie Prince’s 12-year-old son at First Stop Grocery 2 Inc.
“As soon as I seen the video, I immediately asked the store owner to just please turn it off because it made me sick to my stomach to watch and see my child be beat, kicked, hit with crates and they even went so far as to try to throw the scalding hot water on him from the coffee pot,” said Prince.
Prince says his injuries were minor after the staff intervened. "They could have you know, I mean everybody has seen Junior Guzman, everyone has seen that and it just took me back somewhat to that situation,” said Prince.
