Most people have experienced traumas, turmoil, and abuse somewhere in their life, but this is not an excuse for protecting someone who is abusing you or being abusive to others.
Hiding, covering up, making excuses, and protecting an abuser will only give power to the abuse to be more intense, more powerful, more harmful, and possibly lethal against other people especially family members.
This is how abuse is being transferred and passed down to the next generations. Also, remember that you can't always know that a person is an abuser based on how they look on the outside or based on their titles.
Wishing Everyone A Happy Holiday, 2020.
