Centre/Align: Alignment
One of the core practices in AM is finding your stress and un-balanced tension through first resting and dropping into an aligned body.
From there YOU will begin to feel the tugs, pulls and pains in your miss-aligned vessel.
There are 2 ways to align:
Lying down – on the floor/no pillow (recommended - to start)
Sitting – crown to root (chakra column) in alignment - advanced
An easy meditation to feel the alignment is imagining a rod of hollow bamboo moving down through the centre of your head (the crown) through the central channel of the body, down through the root and out between the legs.
It can take years of body awareness to fully feel aligned and to have postural awareness leading your movements throughout the day.
