New Belgium is breaking with tradition making a winter IPA. I'd guess this is to appeal to the Hoptstic crowd who won't drink anything that isn't "chewy" enough. It's not bad as IPAs go. Running 6.2 ABV 55 IBUs and the SRM by my eye would be about 8 ( yeah I mushmouthed it as an 8 ABV instead as well as botching the name. smh/lol). A very nice lemony gold and cloudy w floaties makes me wonder if they bottle conditioned this. Sweet initially, w a medium fast bitter burn thru the middle it ends up dry and dirty. Meh neither the best nor the worst attempt to expand market share to the IPA crowd.
