Super Hero Costumes NOT ABSURD if FUNCTIONAL 1/2: What are WE GOING TO DO with NO Hollywood Heroes?
The post-agrarian, no LONGger defend-yourself America soon LONGed for costumed super heroes in light of the abject failure of do-nothing, call-the-police (too late arriving, you die, perps get away) inherited from densely-populated London "coppers".
The early costumed superheroes even KILL-STOPPED criminals in 100% efficiency.
The costume is NOT an absurd fantasy if FUNCTIONAL; Batman's cape allowed him to unpowered glide-fly just as earlier Roman Soldiers' capes were their BLANKETS they slept in. When fighting and not looking dashing, the capes were REMOVED.
No Capes Darling!

Superhero costumes are PRIMARILY UNIFORMS of authority--wearers can DO WHATEVER IS NECESSARY TO MORALLY SOLVE THE VISIBLE PROBLEM tolerated by the fed-up-with-crime civil populace. Police racketeers do not look fondly on threats to their job security as per "LA Confidential". Just like when you see a policeman or a fireman on the scene--you step out of the way since they are supposed to know what they are doing and have the rest of society behind them. The SWAT team however with KILL-STOP powers under governmental criminal kontrol is NOT reassuring like a costumed superhero who has moral integrity. "The Dark Knight Rises" (DKR) presents this mess nicely. It's subtle conclusion that the INjustice system putting criminals in cages to lift weights and be physically stronger criminals is correct--but the disillusioned cop becoming Robin doesn't address the real 25/40/35 psychological split that constantly creates crime.
The second important purpose of super hero costumes is also sound; to protect his/her identity to prevent evil criminals ambushing them after hours like depicted in the director's cut of "Watchmen".
So Why No Costumed Super Heroes in Real Life?
1st, the costumes presented are NOT functional; they are just too damn hot to put anyone in a full body suit that is bullet-proof (knife proof, too DKR!).
The most dangerous and realistic super hero is James Bond who wears civilian normie accepted clothes. YES, he is undercover infiltrating Pedo-Illuminati rich elites to discover and ruin their conspiratorial plans. Remove the Aston-Martin super car and tuxedo and James Bond could be walking the aisles with you in WalMart.
Unformed police, firemen, military ARE wearing hero costumes that are functional even though the black ones must be very hot.
The problem is the concept of post-crime, REACTIVE heroing is NOT WORKABLE even if he can fly at will like humans in the beginning were able to do--even at the speed of light.

YES, you can't "outrun a radio" but this is police racketeering BS to somehow justify not being able to KILL-STOP the crime and criminal but able to capture him TOO LATE to feed the courts, prisons, parole INjustice system aka a RACKET milking problems instead of SOLVING THEM.
