Rockman X4 - X
While not the best game in the series, Megaman X4 (or Rockman X4 in Japan) has a special place in my heart as it is one of the two games I got with my Playstation one Christmas morning (Resident Evil: Director's Cut being the other), so there's some sentimental value to this game for me.
X4 is actually pretty significant for several reasons. The first being that this was the first MMX game to make the jump from the Super NES to the Playstation and the Sega Saturn. Another being that this was the first game where you could play a full game from start to finish as Zero after getting a small taste in X3. Other things to point out was that X4 was the last game to utilize the "classic X" formula, in that you could find hidden capsules in some stages that could enhance parts of X's body. Subsequent games going forward would still have the capsules, but you would need to find four pieces of an armor set in order to unlock it. This game would also make some changes to the collectible items. Where as in the previous 3 SNES games you could collect 4 Energy Sub Tanks for reserve energy, starting with X4, you would only have 2 Tanks, along with a new item that gives you four lives and a sub tank for weapon energy (which in this game is fairly useless since you get fully recharged weapon energy upon death and the helmet upgrade in this game basically gives you infinite ammo for your weapons).
Looking back on it, X4 is not my personal favorite. The first 3 SNES game were alot better in my opinion and to me, it seemed that the series started going downhill with this game. But like I said, this game does have some sentimental value to me.
