There was a piano-like keyboard on the PLATO music system, but instrument-sounds were assigned in a "round robin manner" and they were NOT mapped to specific keys.
This was very bizarre for a keyboard player, each time a new key was pressed, the next available sound in the instrument file was assigned to the key. The result was that before you pressed a new piano key, you had no idea WHAT instrument sound would be played.
Uncle Wierd's Fun House is one of the few PLATO Music songs I played on that old keyboard. The unpredictablitiy adds beautifully to this music.
