You probably already found this out by now, but for those who only know of Sukapon from Smash, his debut was in Joy Mech Fight, a fighting game released only in Japan pretty late in the Famicom's lifecycle (in May 1993, whereas the Super Famicom was out for about 2 and a half years by that point) It's one of the very few fighting games on the system to actually play decently. I figured I wanted to do a track from this game at some point, and decided to just do it.
The fact this track is in ¾ compared to what I'm used to (4/4) does make covering this more interesting than usual. I went with Kirby DPCM samples because, at the time, I thought that this was made by HAL Laboratories and figured Kirby DPCM samples would be a good fit. When I went to look that up for .ftm details later, I found out no, it wasn't, it was made by Nintendo R&D1.
