I prepare fulminating gold from chloroauric acid and from that I make potassium dicyanoaurate(I) by addition of aqueous sodium potassium cyanide solution. After crystallization of the K[Au(CN)2] (got a good timelapse!) the dicyanoaurate(I) is reacted with concentrated HCl and heated. This precipitates out aurous cyanide AuCN. The Handbook of Preparative Inorganic Chemistry said that moist AuCN was photosensitive to sunlight but that does not appear to extend to the compound under water (at least not in the short term)
