Many of us from the North America market remember the bass line from what was called Final Fantasy II here, but was actually Final Fantasy IV in the whole of the franchise in Japan. I still like the battle theme in FF IV, but this is a close second, possibly because I love that bass line. I stuck as close to the original art that was used back in 1990. Personally, I'm not a fan of the more weebie chibi art that has been used in more recent marketing and game art. The early Final Fantasy art was something unique and stood out from much of the rest of the artwork at the time. It was somewhat a more high style that seemed to create that feeling that the game was more than just a kid's fantasy, which it was to an extent. But it was also a story and roleplay that could appeal to kids and adults alike, looking for a challenging adventure. Now, I think they play it off of both the Dragonball Z and Minecraft crowd, and forgot the whole metaphor and core theme of Final Fantasy as something that was supposed to be its own unique world.
But, that's just my take as an oldtimer fan of the franchise from the first Final Fantasy. Take it with a grain of salt, if you bother to take it at all.
