A brief response to Thomas Sheridan's reformulated idea of the "Needlecraft" as derived from Steiner's work, shall provide a good introduction to my future work on this very fascinating subject. Naturally, I have been reading extensively upon Steiner and others' work regarding the Luciferic or Ahrimanic age and what it shall be illustrative of; this ties in as well to the Promethean rebellion. As stated by Steiner, the antichrist, or the Ahrimanic/Luciferian/"spirit of the pure material" will emerge within the US before the 3rd millennia is concluded; just as he appeared within the third-millennia BC in China, in the character of the Yellow Emperor or Huangdi. This Ahrimanic age will be an age embodied by veneration of the material and an admonishment of the spiritual; pardon, more akin to an outlawing of the spiritual. Steiner discussed how this immunization from spirituality would occur; that being through needlecraft. He seemed to have believed also that the various technological breakthroughs, that were occurring at breakneck speed in his day, were all the work of the Luciferic or Ahrimanic spirit - either tangible or in a metaphysical sense - and that the "hosts" of Ahriman - again, either in spirit or direct possession - were, in the work of proto-Cybernetics and Eugenics, attempting to remake Man and destroy Man's connection to his higher spiritual nature. This was indubitably due to fact that spirituality acts as an insulator to fear and anxiety; fear and anxiety are what these dark spirits of the material derive sustenance from. I will provide references, that I am utilizing right now, to ensure you have a good understanding of this agenda in its more spiritual or metaphysical sense; you may see this religiously or not; I, myself, will be tackling it from a purely neutral standpoint, inferring in both a cross-religious and secular sense. I believe this may yield a better understanding of the concept.
