An explanation of how we can estimate the area of an irregular shape by using two different methods. Method 1: We find the perimeter and area of a figure in a coordinate plane by using the Slope formula and Distance formula. Method 2: We find the area of a figure in the coordinate plane by enclosing it in a rectangle and using subtraction. We discuss the "Missing Square Puzzle", which has two figures that appear to have the same area but one has an extra square.
