Merrie Melodies - The Fighting 69½th (1941)

The Fighting 69½th is a 1941 Merrie Melodies short directed by Friz Freleng.
Notes:
The cartoon was reissued twice, once in the 1943-44 season, evident from red background blue Color Rings, and once in the 1952-53 season, evident from red background green rings, and the "THE END" in Lydian font ending title. As such, the original 1941 opening and ending title cards and the credits are lost due to the Blue Ribbon reissues. Additionally, the opening and Blue Ribbon title card from the re-release in 1944 was lost due to a second re-release.
The second re-release ending card was never released on any home video format, however, the re-release ending titles do exist on the censored a.a.p. print.
Both the USA and EU 1995 dubbed prints replace the original ending music cue 1938-1941 with 1941-1955 ending music theme.

Censorship:
Versions of this cartoon airing on Cartoon Network and its sister channel Boomerang in the United States cut the part where, after the black ants head back to the trenches with a hot dog, a blackfaced ant with white lips and a Rochester-esque voice, goes above the trenches to get mustard.
