Needing inspiration and fun, I have been opening blind bags with my fellow creator, Daze, on our channel Blind Bag Hags. We’ve made it a rule, or more of a guideline really, to create something out of duplicates we get.
This time round, I tried my hand at painting a squishie. I know it wasn't a duplicate, but it was asking for a make over. Dragons deserve to be detailed. I have used fabric paint on fabric before, but this was a new experience for me slapping it on something 3D. I learned quite a bit, and really enjoy painting these now. But this little guy was my very first.
Thanks so much for reading this far, and I hope you like my video. I intend on making more videos like this so please stop back by to see my improvement.
Materials:
Tulip Fabric Paint – Matte White
Tulip Slick Fabric Paint - White
Tulip Dimensional Paint – Copper Iridescent
So Soft Fabric Acrylic Paint – Burgundy, Christmas Red, and Gold
DecoArt Heavy Metals Light Liquid Glitter Paint for Fabrics – Midnight Onyx
Wet/Dry Sandpaper
Paintbrushes
Small caps and containers for mixing and diluting paints
Small Dotting Tool
Pencil for sketching out details
Total work time ~ 4 hours give or take since it is difficult really to calculate considering how long I was waiting for paint to dry between layers. Generally, it's paint a few details (5 mins) let dry 2 hrs, repeat...see? Really the true time spent depends on your own level of attention to detail; mine was out of the box on this one. All those scales and my own obsession with perfection is what took so long.
