THE 80s
According to the US Department of Justice, The were no fewer than 24,500 murders during the 1980s. Of those, African Americans accounted for 12,862 or 52.5% of those violent crimes during the 1980s.

During that time, most homicides were intraracial. With 84% of White victims killed by other Whites and 93% of African American victims killed by other African Americans.

THE 90s
Begining in 1991, the number of homicides reached an all-time high of 24,703. Then fell rapidly to 15,522 homicides by
1999.

Of those during the 1900s,
AA made up 49% of violent crime in America. Which is around 12,000 of the 24,703 violent crimes in the 1990s.

THE 2000s
During 2010-2019, around 19,374 Murders were commited. African Americans accounted for 10,190 of those or 52.6% of those violent crimes with in the last decade

Overall, from 2018-2019. Murder and nonnegligent manslaughter is down 3.9%

DOWN. Violent Crime fell from 34.1% in the 1980s to 31.3% 1994. Then increased to 32.7% in the mid-2000s. In the last two decades since (2000) the homicide rates have decline to numbers last seen during the 1960s.
