Capitalism is often misconstrued as corporatism, which is an opposing system to capitalism. I recently came across an argument blaming capitalism for government welfare for big businesses claiming that the Tories and Capitalists work together against the people.
In this video, I explain the difference between political and market entrepreneur's and explain why political entrepreneurs are not capitalist. To back the evidence of what I spoke about, the definition of individualism is as follows:
• a social theory favouring freedom of action for individuals over collective or state control.
Capitalism is an individualist system and again, to prove my point, you will find the word socialism is synonymous to the word collectivism, this is even backed by the definition of collectivism which is pretty much the same definition as socialism, as follows:
• a political or economic theory advocating collective control especially over production and distribution

It is important to make the distinction between capitalism and corporatism as they are not the same thing, nor is capitalism the early stages of corporatism. If you oppose the free market by any means, you are not a capitalist, a capitalist is someone who fully supports capitalism and is all for open market competition, is not someone against it.
