The Terror is an American historical drama thriller television series. The series is named after the 2007 novel by Dan Simmons.
The first season was developed by David Kajganich and is a fictionalized account of Captain Sir John Franklin's lost expedition to the Arctic in 1845–1848.

The first season only is posted on this history channel because despite the fictional elements, it is quite an accurate depiction of the Franklin Expedition. The producers spent a lot of effort getting the details historically accurate.
