How to back up your Nintendo Switch saved games offline and for free with Checkpoint

Backing up the save data on your Nintendo Switch has been made extremely simple thanks to the homebrew scene. Nintendo lets you do this only if you pay for their online service using cloud saves, however your saves stored on the cloud will be delete from their storage after you stop paying. Thanks to the checkpoint application, we can back up our important save data offline and completely for free, and keep copies of our data permanently on storage we manage ourselves.
